Term: Archival holdings

All documentation, irrespective of type or medium, organically produced and/or accumulated and used by a given person, family or institution in the course of its activities and functions (see Archive, 2).
Within archival holdings, a number of hierarchical levels are usually distinguished, including sub-holdings, sections, series and subseries.
